In choosing the floral arrangements that will enhance the beauty of your day many alternatives need to be considered. Bridal bouquets are designed in a number of styles...Nosegay, a round hand tied bouquet, suitable for flowers such as Roses, Orchids or any flowers with a compact form. Hand-tied bouquets can be presented with stems showing or, in a more formal version, with stems bound in ribbon. In the bound version of this bouquet style, a soft bow is optional.

The cascade or mini cascade is a flowing, longer style which can be more freeform and creative.  When deciding on the size of the cascade, the style of the bridal gown should be considered. A long train on the dress or a cathedral length veil will always look good with a cascade bouquet.

The third most popular style is Presentation. This style is better known as the "Miss America bouquet", a loosely wrapped bouquet of long stems that drape across the arm. These bouquets in their simplest form become a Single Stem - sometimes with a little greenery - sometimes with a bit of small highlighting flowers - and always with a soft ribbon bow.

Other considerations are Maid of Honor and Bridesmaid bouquets, within the same color palette but smaller than the Bridal bouquet, Flower Girl baskets of petals or small bouquets, Boutonnieres for the Gentlemen and wrist or lapel corsages for selected female attendees.

When considering flowers for the reception always remember not to obstruct anyone's view across the table with large arrangements. either elevate or keep arrangements small and compact  so guests can see each other across the table.

Costs of flowers vary greatly depending on the varieties being used. Local, in season flowers will cost far less that imported fragile blooms. Creative arrangements using locally available materials such as seashells or beach glass or arrangements including candle centerpieces will not only be unique but will save money.
